Turtle Island is a wonderful place of tranquil delight to wind down from the busy world we all live in. It is a privately owned Island some 40mins flight from Nandi by seaplane and is an amazing destination for honeymooners or just a relaxing a holiday even with its flaws. There is space for 14 couples, the bures are very nice indeed particularly the Vonu Point some 500 metres from your nearest neighbour.

All meals and drinks are included with your stay, along with a number of other activities, like fishing, horse-back riding, bike riding, and various other fun activities.

The customer service at Turtle Island is second to none, so friendly and very helpful as the Fijian people generally are.

If you want that Island get away, it is certainly a worthwhile trip.

I have yet to visit Tahiti and stay at one of many resorts I booked for honeymoon couples. One of my favorites St Regis Bora Bora resort on the island of Bora Bora. The Likuliku Lagoon Resort Fiji one of the first overwater bures in Fiji is stunning. We stayed here for few nights in September 2007.The JW Marriot is due to open in 2009.

I was so fortunate to be able to visit one of the most luxurious private island resort in Fiji the Wakaya Club last year for christmas! The decor on the resorts are amazing! It's all hand crafted made from local grass and tree bark. My photo album also has pictures from Westin Resort displayed in the main lobby. Travel during the months of December and January depends on the airfare. Here are some tips before you search for airfare to get a good deal.

Be flexible. The lowest fares are usually for midweek travel, generally Mondays through Thursdays.

Know when to book. Cheap airfares usually require an advance purchase of at least seven 21 days, but tracking prices even further in advance is smart.

Don't count on last-minute deals. Eleventh-hour airfare deals are becoming increasingly scarce, so don't rely on finding a great fare at the last minute.

Go off-peak. Visiting during the off-peak season will yield cheaper fares. Fly on the holiday. If you're flying around the time of a major holiday, be aware that traveling on the holiday itself is less expensive than traveling a day or two before or after it.

Be smart about sales. Keep an eye on airfare sales, but remember that the "sale" prices may not be the cheapest fares around.

Shop around. Compare prices from several carriers to determine which will offer the best price and itinerary for your schedule.

My good friends Jane and Jared are scheduled for their first visit to Fiji They will be staying atTokoriki Island for a few nights. I have been booking this beautiful island for honeymoon couples for a while now. This is one my favorite resort in the Mamanuca Group. The island of Monuriki is only 25 minutes by boat where the famous movie Castaway with Tom Hanks was made. My husband and I stayed in a deluxe beachfront bure that has sliding doors open on to a patio that over looks the ocean.

My top picks on Tokoriki Island: Sip a cocktail with coconut snack as you watch the sunset at the cocktail bar , take a cool bath filled with plumerias, savor excellent Fijian cuisine

Fiji Waterfalls

Fiji is famous for its waterfalls and on my trip this became one of the highlights! It was a really hot September day, perfect for a dip in the natural shower and pool:) A honeymoon couple from Seattle joined us for a special lunch picnic organized by the resort. We arrived at the waterfalls in less then 10 minutes from Namale Resort.

There is a picnic table set up and stairway to walk down into the natural pool. It's really neat experience! After swimming and cooling off we left the honeymooners alone with the lunch and a bottle of champagne!

Namale Resort & Spa Fiji is one of the most luxurious and all-inclusive resort. I stayed 2 nights in the honeymoon bure (nanise) built on volcanic pinnacles with a bridge that leads to your own private plunge pool overlooking the Koro Sea. It has one of the most stunning views and to watch the sunrise and sunset here is just pure magical! The gardens are full of beautiful tropical flowers and birds. The resort is owned by the famous inspirational speaker Anthony Robbins. If you want to have a unique and extraordinary experience then I recomend staying here in one of the honeymoon bures.

Sonaisali is only a three minute boat ride across the lagoon from the main island. The dive shop is located at the pier and you will notice this as you are getting off the boat. The golf carts pick you up and drive you to the reception for a easy and relaxing check in process. You recieve welcome lei and tropical fruit juice upon arrival. The rooms are spacious and includes mini bar/fridge, radio, tv, hair dryer and cofee/tea maker, internet, air conditioning and ceiling fan. The restaurant and lounge area is wide open seating extending to edge of the swimming pool which is open 24 hours! The nightly musical programe is very lively with the limbo contest! We spent 2 nights in the newly renovated complex which is on an island near Nadi International airport. The drive takes 15-20 minutes. This resort used to be Sheraton Royal and is linked t0 2 other Sheraton Resorts. Grounds are perfect and the reception area has an amazing water feature. Rooms are spacious and are well equipped. Restaurants on site are superb. Westin is execellent choice for overnight stay.

This place is Fiji's best kept secret! We arrived here from Nadi after a 2 hours drive along the sun coast. The staff is super friendly .We stayed in a beachfront bure. Wananavu is heavenly to get away from it all. It consists of bures with air con, fridges and tea makers, on a hill side next to the sea. The pool is stunning, with a 20 foot waterfall, and rocks to lounge on. The snorkeling is great; just wade into the water, and start. I don't dive, but there are 2 dive shops that work from the resort. A very peaceful place with a great restaurant. Great place to relax and unwind without having to share the beach!!

The highlight of my trip to Fiji was luxury Wakaya Club! I stayed in an oceanfront bure with garden approx USD$2138 with indoor space 1,500 square feet; private garden, lava rock outdoor shower, meals beverages, unlimited mini bar access, two scuba dives a day, unlimited use of sports facilities (everything from snorkeling to professional croquet); a personal tennis or golf coach, laundry service, natural woven slippers, chilled Taittinger on arrival (you can see in picture album), unlimited bottles of Fiji Water.

Transfers on Air Wakaya from Nadi International airport takes approximately 40min. The food is gourmet cuisine as the manager himself is a professional chef.

During my recent trip to Fiji I did a tour of the overwater bungalows due to open in March2007. These are some of the best accommodations in Fiji. The deeply thatched bures are set on the blue lagoon of Likuliku Bay. The deluxe honeymoon bures are set on the beach facing the sea. Each deluxe bure has a personal plunge pool. It is still in it's finishing phase as it has alot of detail work being done to the walls, pool and it also features a wine cellar. The dining area is wide overlooking the bay with breathtaking views of the sea and nearby islands. All meals included in your room rate this is comaparable to the Thalasso in Bora Bora, except half the price :)

You will notice the beautiful aquamarine waters of the Tasman Straits, and 240 acres of tropical rainforest on the island interior. The Wakaya Club is the most exclusive resort in the South Pacific. Guests are flown into the island's private airport by a charter flight (Air Wakaya) that is arranged to meet each client's schedule. However, the 45 minute flight only operates during daylight hours. I recommend this resort for an amazing fiji honeymoon and wedding.

Pure paradise! This resort has spectacular sunsets, outstanding bungalows and breathtaking blue lagoons and white sandy beaches. You will immediately be greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival. The bungalows are very clean and nicely decorated. If you really want to relax in paradise the hammock on the beach is to die for.

Rarotonga (Cook Islands): Only 32km (20 miles) around, the capital of the Cook Islands boasts the beauty of Tahiti -- with hints of Moorea -- but without the development and the high prices of French Polynesia.

Aitutaki (Cook Islands): A junior version of Bora Bora, Aitutaki is one of the hottest South Pacific destinations. This week I have decided to talk about my dream vacation! We all dream about going places and below is a brief description of the lodge.

The environment it occupies are more famous as the setting of one of film history's most ornate pieces of fantasy. Roughly 20 miles north of Queenstown, Blanket Bay, which borders Lake Wakatipu (shown in the picture album, the pool framed by walls of native slate), nestles among some of the mountains director Peter Jackson transformed into Middle-earth in his "Lord Of The Rings" trilogy. I would like to stay in the chalet for at least one night!

Horseback Riding - Fijian Style

Horseback riding on Taveuni? Yes! Cattle and horses (called ose in Fijian) were introduced to the Fiji Islands a century ago. During the 1930's there was even a horsetrack on Taveuni. When World War II broke out, Fiji was still under British rule, so people prepared for or went to the war and the horses were mostly let loose to become wild. Not so many years ago one might even see wild horses in Taveuni Estates.

Today, there is still a cattle ranch in Southen end of Taveuni and small butcher shop. You can order meat from them and have it delivered to you the next day. I'm not a meat eater, but I hear the steaks are excellent.

A few people still use horses for transportation on the island, and there is small ranch which offers rides up the lushly vegetated cinder cones to an elevation of one thousand feet. Bale - pronouced "bah-lay" - is the ranch owner. He offers rides at very reasonable rates. Ask him about his younger days playing on the Taveuni rugby team - he's got some great stories about Fiji's favorite sport.

The rides are 2 to 3 hours long, so if you have a free morning, why not take a ride - no experience necessary - and enjoy the sights of South Taveuni? You'll also enjoy the taxi ride from Taveuni estates which winds along high cliffs on a well maintained road (the bus service uses this route). The vegetation is rain forest most of the way and the views of crystal clear ocean and other islands is quite memorable.
